Background

Brief Biography

June is interested in many forms of artistic expression and her work encompasses, photography, digital storytelling, video and writing. Her themes include country life, recovery from natural disaster, childhood, renewal, nature, people, and the spaces she lives and walks in.

She is a freelance writer, tutor, community educator, blogger, and flickr participant (she administers some photo sharing groups).

She gained a doctorate studying the empowerment of Indigenous women through writing. Her work can be found in many journals and magazines including SideWalk, Talking Ink From Ochre, New England Review, ANU poets lunch compilation, and various publications in Australia, New Zealand and the United States. 

She coordinated the Licuala Writers from 2007-2011 and then encouraged and assisted in the formation of a committee for Licuala WINQ writers 2011.
